Summary: The Department is seeking to engage a supplier to develop capability assessment tools, practice guidance and capability building resources for Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) services and shelters and disability services to improve system responses for people with disability impacted by DFSV.
Reports and inquiries including the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce (WSJT), have consistently acknowledged the need to improve integrated responses for people with disability who are experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV). Under the Department of Housing and Public Works’ disability housing action plan, Partnering for inclusive housing with Queenslanders with disability 2024-2027 (PFIH), the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety (the Department) is leading an action to improve integrated service responses for people with disability experiencing, or at risk of, DFSV by generating insights and practice resources to promote an accessible approach that can be adopted statewide.
To meet the intention of this action, the Department is seeking to engage a supplier to develop capability assessment tools, practice guidance and capability building resources for DFSV services and shelters and disability services to improve system responses for people with disability impacted by DFSV.
Desired Outcomes: Undertake consultation with people with disability, DFSV services and shelters, disability support services, government agencies and others with a role in support people impacted by DFSV to understand current approaches to service, gaps, challenges and opportunities. Development and implementation of capability assessment tools to support organisations and agencies to assess how accessible and integrated their responses to people with disability impacted by DFSV are, and whether accessibility has been embedded at an organisational level.
